Pressure Assist Toilets

Why is water accumulating in the toilet tank?

A small amount of water in the toilet tank is normal. On many models, small amounts of water are released from the pressure vessel into the china tank on every flush. Every pressure vessel is equipped with an overflow that allows the water (over about ½” deep) in the china tank to drain into the bowl.

What can be done to eliminate splashing outside of the bowl during a flush?

An obstructed or misdirected rim hole or jet hole may create a splash (the jet is the large hole in the bottom of the bowl from which the water is forced during the flush). Check to assure all holes are open and clear of debris or obstruction.

What can be done to eliminate a broken handle with a Flushmate toilet?

A key factor in the handle life is the gap between the actuator rod and the plunger on the Flushmate unit inside the china tank. There should be a gap between the plunger and the rod of 1/16” to 1/8”, or approximately the thickness of a quarter. If the gap is too large, it is harder to trigger the flush. This results in more force than normal being applied to the handle.

How can the operational noise be reduced?

Due to pressurized water being utilized to evacuate the bowl, there will be a certain amount of noise created by the sudden rush of water and air moving through the bowl. The noise only occurs for a few seconds.
