Tub & Shower
|
| I have a pressure balance tub and shower valve and I either have no or limited hot and/or cold water?
To work properly, the pressure balance tub and shower valve requires equal pressure on both the hot and cold supply lines. If there is no or limited flow from the valve, remove the pressure balancing insert from the valve body so that the pressure balancing spool can be cleaned and re-lubricated (using a non-toxic lubricant). Once cleaned, re-assemble and re-install the pressure balancing insert. If the problem persists, contact our Technical Support line toll free at 1-888-328-2383 (in U.S.) or 1-800-487-8372(in Canada).
What can be done to improve low flow from a shower head?
For shower heads with rubber spray tips, you can run your fingers against the rubber tips while the shower head is in use. If water flow is not improved or if the shower head is not equipped with rubber spray tips, soak the shower head overnight in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water.
What does Pressure Balance mean?
Pressure balancing describes the process that is used to prevent accidental exposure to scalding water. It consists primarily of a balancing spool that regulates both hot and cold water flow, depending upon each inlet pressure. This system is so accurate that it can compensate for temperature changes of only ± 3 ºF.
What is a Temperature Limiting Device?
A temperature limiting device restricts handle movement. It is a set of stops located at the base of the cartridge stem, which allows the user to set the maximum temperature of the water, thus reducing potential of being scalded.
